When Tereg inadvertently murders a god he expects to be tortured and killed; instead, he is rescued from the mate-hunting Yappari women by Mirin, a half-sidhe renegade with an agenda of his own. As old treaties and alliances fall apart in the middle of impending war and Tereg's own latent talents emerge at the most inopportune of times, the young rogue soon learns that his companion may be the only person he can trust. With magic long gone wild and now mostly defunct, Tereg could very well be the answer to the Sidhe Council's prayers or the final key to magic's complete obliteration, and the collapse of what remains of the sidhe empire. More importantly, as their feelings for one another begin to deepen and change, the partnership may end up being more than either bargained for. At the end of the day, Tereg may be in more danger in the company of his rescuer than in the clutches of their enemies.

Description:
Wheat coloured hair, generally loose, often with indigo or purple string woven throughout; green/brown eyes. Nondescript utilitarian dark clothing.

Brief History : Fire mage and half yappari ( a race of underwater warrior women), he in an exile taken in by the mainland sidhe. Ill at ease with his own magical abilities and the cost they always entail, he's torn between finally accomplishing revenge or protecting Tereg.

Description: Dark brown hair and Grey eyes. Slight but toned and shorter than Kinnean, he wears his hair cropped short and woven with braids( and indigo string) throughout; built, he wears the indigo robes of his people and light armour overtop.

Brief History : Eihall is the current lord of the plainsmen, charged with protecting the other sidhe clans from the Dreamers. Duty bound and rather somber, he's only light hearted around his best friend and second in command, Kinnean.

Basics:
Description: Dark brown hair and Grey eyes. Long hair usually kept up in a warrior's queue( like a samurai) with one honour braid woven with blue string down his temple; halfway through the novel he does cut off the queue ( grieving) so feel free to depict him that way too, though I have no refs of that style.
He's built, he wears the indigo robes of his people and light armour overtop and is about a half head taller than Eihall.

Brief History : Kinnean is Eihall's second in command, best friend and for all intents his conscience. Loves him absolutely, and defends him and clan with his life.

Description:
Graying brown hair, worn long but firmly kept off his face. Gold eyes. Dark robes and light armour over top.
Age (at start of novel): n/a. Old as dirt.

Brief History : Aristophe is Quinne's father; he was also Eihall's tutor once and Mirin's interrogator. He is part of the sidhe council and one of the oldest sidhe living; he is one of very few surviving battle mages after magic went rogue, and can be best defined as absolutely ruthless.

Brief History : Close friend of both Anita and Quinne, Salo is a Yappari now living in Nyara and head of the healer's guild, Salo is young and unusual for his role, as few men among the yappari are allowed professions. He's sweet and generous to a fault, and tends to prefer staying in the background.
